LAS VEGAS! Grand Canyon!
Last July, hubs and I decided spur of the moment that we wanted to take a trip. This was right before our wedding, and I was hardcore stressed so getting away for some fun sounded perfect. We decided to go to Las Vegas since I had never been and he hadn’t visited since he was young. Thankfully, the doggie daycare had enough room to keep our fur children last minute on the fourth of July weekend.
We had a really great time at browsing the different shops and walking the strip. The light show at the Bellagio was beautiful and the food we at was delicious. The number of macarons and cupcakes I gorged myself on was truly next level. We decided to ride the high roller Ferris wheel on one of our last nights. The ride all the way to the top and around took about thirty minutes and drinks were served during the ride. Once we reached the top we were able to see the whole city. The view was really beautiful.
We played a lot of slot machines. Mainly because we are terrible at the actual card games. I won a hundred bucks so I obviously had to capture the moment. All those years at Chuck-E-Cheese as a kid really came through for me on that night.
We rented a car and drove to a few of the surrounding areas. One of the places we drove to was Red Rock Canyon. It’s a nice little drive with spots where you can stop to get out and take photos. Holy cow, it is beautiful and makes for wonderful photos.
The Grand Canyon was AMAZING! One of the highlights of our trip. Hubs kept saying I was getting too close to the edge, I was just living my best life. I think he didn’t like the idea of his fiancée falling off a cliff a week before the wedding…I guess that was a valid point.
We drove over to see the Hoover Dam on the fourth of July. The sheer size of it is insane. The photos don’t really do it justice. We had to walk to the middle of a VERY high bridge so I could take the photo of the dam. I really wanted to walk on the bridge. Mike really HATES heights but went with me anyway. Ain’t love grand?
We added Las Vegas to our list of favorite places after this trip. We had a really great time! If you haven’t visited Vegas or The Grand Canyon, I recommend going if you get the chance!
